Hi! My name is Tamara Joyce-Wylie and I am so excited to join the Texas Hands & Voices chapter as a board member and Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Coordinator. My husband and I live in Grapevine and are blessed with four wonderful children, Chelsea, Foster, Faith and Ella. Our two youngest daughters are hard of hearing, as am I. I began losing my hearing as an adult and, while many would not understand my feelings, I consider the loss a blessing. Being HOH myself

allows me to better understand the issues my daughters face and to be able to articulate what it’s like to live with hearing loss to other parents of HOH children. Besides that, we all get to wear matching pearly pink hearing aids with glittery ear molds! Connections I have made through Hands & Voices have helped our family navigate the journey of life with hearing loss; I pray I might be able to do some small part in helping other families find their way!
